YesHas siddle took a wkt this series?
Mental how you are so critical of our second best batsmen and the only opener whose done well this series. But you’ll back Bairstow to the hilt even though he’s forgotten how to bat in tests and averages something like 20 in the last two years.People need to calm down with this lad
He’s doing no more than ok, and he can’t play the short ball for toffee
Not sure how successful he’s gonna be

It's amazing how us laymen can see this, but the selectors and coach think this is a fantastic idea to have Root and Stokes the two most senior batsman playing out of position.Got to love Stokes but he really isn't a number 4 Test batsman
All rounder out to indifferent shot shocker.

This is bollocks like.
All rounders at 4 and 5 with a supposed specialist batsman below them, then bowlers from 7 down.
Only Burns, Root and Stokes are safe in the top seven for their place for the winter.
Stokes out cheaply and playing a bad shot, AGAIN. When he gets big runs they're usually spectacular - SA, Lords, Headingley. Other than those his overall record is as average as Bairstow's.
Stokes - 57 tests, 3500 runs @ 35, 8 centuries
Bairstow - 69 tests, 4000 runs @ 35, 6 centuries
Jonny's batting gets non-stop stick (I give him plenty) and Stokes gets virtually none.
Is it because his big scores are more headline-grabbing/matchwinning?
Is averaging 35 acceptable because he's an all-rounder?
I know that batting all-rounders tend to get more runs in the 2nd half of their careers as their bowling workload decreases a bit, but I still think Ben should be averaging mid-forties.

Absolutely
Still don’t think there’s any merit in putting in a batsman in for the 5th test though
And how many games do we lose because our batsmen don't get 'average' runs? It's feast or famine with too many in this team. There’s far too much obsession with averages on this board it’s mad
I’ve no interest in what stokes average is, he wins games
Most people have just reached a point of frustration with Jonny. Being a gobsh**e doesn't help him either.Mostly because the averages are going in opposite directions. Bairstow's is dropping off, Ben's is on the up.
He's on a hiding to nothing here in the SMB Kangaroo court mind. Get out cheap and he'll get stick, get a score and he'll be criticised for not giving up the gloves and moving up the order.
