Ashes 2005

The 2002/03 series had one cracker when we bowled them out with three bowlers (Caddick, Harmison & Dawson?).

Best Aussie away test though was Melbourne '98/99. Iirc in a four hour final session Dean Headley got five wickets and Gough celebrated the final wicket by waving the stump above his head while the supporters ran on. Mint :)

They showed the highlights of that test in one of the many rain breaks during the Sri Lanka series ... Headley looked a cracking bowler quick as well!!

Wasn't that session the longest in test cricket history

The Ashes 2005 was brilliant on so many levels, I dont think I have enjoyed a SAFC match as much.

it was the 2006/7 series marra.
it was an epic game, with flintoff declaring with england in control.
the aussies then whacked a huge total and had us 1 down in 2nd innings at the close of day 4 iirc. then warnes magic came to the party on the last day. id say it was a fantastic test match despite the fact we lost.

Yeah I have just realized my error on the year just now

Headley seemed to take wickets and had a threat about him and its a shame he retired so young.
