My first memory is Australia winning the toss and Ricky Ponting deciding to bowl. Mark Nicholas then said Australia would bat just before an ad break.
He hadn't even listened to Ponting, thinking like everyone else that batting first was a no-brainer, especially with McGrath injured.
I didn't believe it, either, until I saw the teams out on the field. I don't think the likes of Lee, Kasprowicz or Warne couldn't quite fathom Ricky's choice, too, seeing their bemused faces.
