Crowley died 11 years before NASA was formed. I know he was a top magick lad, but even so.

Conspiracies do happen. Yes, some conspiracy theorists invent stuff and poison the well, but there's some genuinely dodgy stuff that governments and other agencies get up to.
For example, 9-11. A quarter of a century on now that the initial shock and horror has passed, I think there's a growing sense of unease about the 'official' story. Anyone who poked holes in the official line was silenced and even told they were 'disrespecting the dead', which is ridiculous.

Also, check out 'Operation Northwoods'. It demonstrates the total lack of value some people have on human life.
Never, ever trust governments or any agency that can harm you. There's little wonder some people believe even far fetched theories.
A lot of people in the allied nations apparently didn't believe the Nazis were gassing Jewish people en masse, and no doubt those who disbelieved were treated the same way as modern day 'conspiracy theorists'.

There's middle ground, you don't have to be a rabid sceptic or believer. Use discretion and caution.

Wum and attention seeker does contribute to a lot of them.

I would say the vast majority of people I see on here are two liner conspiracy theorists. That is all they post, two lines. It is a low bar effort and they never really engage in discussion. At best they might post a YouTube video to someone lacking credibility saying something vaguely related. I remember one on here used to love saying that there had never been a complete picture of the earth taken, why was that? Except there has been loads. Basically they are low effort. What is the minimum they can type to get a reaction?

At least people like Nukhasslefan on the Flat Earth thread put in the effort. He invented entirely his own branch of science and maths to explain it all. It was fascinating, sound and light travelled at the same speed. In fact they are the same thing, I think sound is the end product of light, with all sorts of great reasons to explain why we can measure one but not the other. A 2-3-4 triangle made a right angle and not all right angles are equal. Funny bit fascinating.

What I find frustrating is, there can not be a discussion on the internet anywhere about any space mission without some desperate attention seeking gonk popping up going "not real not real, play with me", but offering no proof or valid argument. The sort of annoyance that would get a smack in the face if people dropped into discussions saying that in a pub, but happens online.

Who made the dome and when? That would be some technological achievement for today, never mind however long ago. Or do you mean the plain and firminment dome are natural?

That was probably to prevent another thread about reality and science being derailed by conspiracy theories.

But we do have a long running thread about general space and shape of the earth conspiracies here, where people are free to share alternate theories. I suggest you post there and it keeps the two issues separate.

Most people do this. The people who don't absolutely flood the zone with bullshit conspiracy theories and are used, willingly or otherwise, to fuel extremism and radicalise people online. They are the reason children are increasingly dying of measles and other treatable diseases.

They love to use the inherently flawed logic that conspiracies exist, therefore we should believe every made up load of shit they've heard on the internet. It is overwhelmingly anti science, anti truth, anti progress, hugely slanted against minorities and progressive people and always involves arselicking evil tyrants. They are among the shittest people who have ever existed on this planet.

So the advice IMHO should be, use discretion and caution, check the facts, be careful what you believe, but also take every conspiracy-frotting shitgibbon, bury them up to their necks in shit, and throw things at them while the grown ups discuss the facts properly.

It kind of proves what you say, that I realised after I posted a follow up on the flat eartier thread, I found that I had already asked them a few questions a few days ago and got no response. They continue to post conspiracy bollocks here.

To me that shows a willing to derail a sensible thread and seek attention but not be willing to step to a side argument with what would likely be a smaller audience.

Yes, it has been planned for 9 years and had already had an uncrewed test mission into Earth orbit. Those who follow various space news will have seen updates throughout the programme about design and production awards of various components, modules, the space suits etc.
 
I am not trying to derail anything I am expressing my beliefs. We have been lied to all of our lives so we think we are meaningless and insignificant. The fact is we are supreme created and housed in a realm that sustains us.
