Artemis 2 Going back to the moon.

Just trying to get my head around the speed which the Orion will hit the atmosphere tonight (I'm not sure hitting is technically accurate but you get what I mean). Somewhere between 24,000 & 26,000 mph  I know the Apollo modules were travelling at the same speed, but wow. Still blows my mind how fast the Sun, Earth etc are moving through space.

Yeah, I was trying to edit my response to put in the speed the Sun is travelling at.

The sun travels is travelling approximately 515,000 mph,"pulling' the rest of the planets our solar system along with it. (The Earth orbiting the sun at around 67,000). No matter how times I read that, I still have trouble wrapping my head around those sort of figures when comparing it to the speed we as humans are normally travelling in our vehicles.

Get a few points if caught doing those speeds.

Aye it's baffling and I saw this video years ago. Still baffles me to this day how planes when in the air just don't get left behind, or birds for the matter as how can the keep up with the earth?

I usually only post book promotion stuff on Threads & X etc, so I thought it would be fun to post my above comments about the speed Orion will be travelling in comparison to the planets are moving at etc. No harm. You would think that, but nope. Immediately after posting it, somebody replied accusing me of trying warp the minds of our young with my Satantic indoctrination, then they went on a bit of a rant.

What ... the ... actual ... f*ck! Seriously!!!

I was tempted to reply back, but I quickly realised that's what they were wanting.

When you are on a train, you can be going over 100mph, but if you throw a ball in the air, it does not smack you in the face does it? Same principle.

Aye I was taking the piss 🤣

Years ago I saw the Mythbusters firing a footy off the back of a moving vehicle and it looked good

And just a couple of months ago I saw this 80kph stunt firing a bloke off the back of a truck 😆
