Artemis 2 Going back to the moon.

Imagine being an astronaut in 1969.

And strapping into a spaceship!

Dear god they must have had balls like melons.

We all have more computing power in the thing we are holding in our hands than those blokes had to get them into space.

And home.
The Science Museum in London has one of the Apollo capsules complete with scorch marks.

The underside is burned to a crisp which just shows the incredible heat generated on re-entry.

They also have the parachute that was attached to the top of the capsule when it splashed down.

Suspect the best quality material will only become available when they get back, not 100% sure what the comms setup will be but transmission across that distance will be low bandwidth stuff.

I'm sure Musk would let them use Starlink for a reasonable fee.

Maybe a meal for everyone in the world but hardly going to end hunger forever,.

Not forever obviously, but it feels like that amount of coinage could (if spent correctly in infrastructure, R&D, social programs etc) uplift tens of millions into not having to starve / worry where their next meal is coming from.

Same technology that the Nazis developed for the V2. When are we going to get warp or even just impulse drive?
