Only two disappointments for me ...one...losing Broadhead as that could be longish term and two..
Never want to see Hume in a Sunderland side ever again!

You are wrong, Neil will. But it appears you got the outcome you wanted judging by your pre-match comments and your comment now.

I think Dan Neil is a good player. He showed a couple of good moments tonight but found it very hard against two other young midfielders.

You’re point is a complete misrepresentation of what I’ve said.

I'm no Hume fan but can't be easy playing against a £70 million player when you've just come back from injury. But, of course, let's just crucify him on here. Some folk need a reality check.

Looks like Broadhead may have the same injury problems as Hume - dodgy hamstrings. Think he missed some games on loan at Burton with the same sort of injury.

We played well. Pressed high and always going to be tough second half with the effort going in. Generally positive play and we did alright. We're short of quality upfront though. Once Broadhead went off the bench offered nothing comparable to replace with and Gooch is not good enough to play that high.

Overall it was a good test we did reasonably well at, but we look no better than a bottom third Championship side. Still lots of work to do to improve the side.

That was too easy an option
No idea why he changed it when we were on the offensive. Wouldn't say Broadhead was doing owt special and Kimpiokas pace would have probably syrtched them just the same and made a bit of space for Stewart and Prichard.
Really baffled by some of the decisions he makes.
Proud of the lads tonight for showing a bit of fight though all the same.

It was a shame about the fifth. That slightly flattered Arsenal.
Of course, they were much better than us, as they had a right to be. But I thought some of our players stood up well (notably Pritchard).
Hume was clearly off the pace and some players looked out of their depth. Stewart struggled, so too Doyle. But we are what we are.

Again I have to say it. I’m not being biased I’m genuinely staggered how intensely the commentators celebrated arsenal goals, hat tricks, debut goals, back heels in etc against an injury plagued league one club  calling it a special night for one of their players and a Christmas to remember for the HT hero. Ffs man:oops:

aye it was fawning shite

We emulated the mags. They are getting scudded every week.

Some good points though and hopefully a learning curve for soon.
One thing that separates us from the Mags was at least we had a go and actually made a spectacle out of it . They just stink ( pun intended) the place out week in week out .

I think Hume and every other full back is hung out to dry by Johnsons tactics, this season we have played 3 players at left back and every one plays nearer to the centre of the pitch than the wing, over the season how many goals have we conceded by letting wide players run at us.
This all over. I say this every match when our left back is in the Centre Half position and only leaves it when the right winger gets the ball in miles of space. Defensive suicide.
