Around the Shires....

Derby v Essex has been abandoned after a positive Covid test amongst the Derby squad.

Probably changes nowt as far as Durham are concerned.

Unfortunate and rather farcical scenes at Headingley. Play started an hour late, then a Yorkshire fielder picked up a nasty injury falling on the wet turf and play now called off for the day. Umpires must have deemed it fir to start but did they overlook the area near the west stand where the incident occurred (that side of the ground is always worse for drainage as well)

Gloucestershire conceded 48 byes in Hampshire's 1st innings. Surely they're not all Bracey's fault.
Roses match has been abandoned

Read a few comments on Twitter that said conditions for keeping were horrific. Whether that’s a terrible outfield or the ball doing alsorts after passing the stumps I’ve no idea.

Good job we’re safely through and not even a home qf to play for as we can’t have one with it being the same week as the Headingley Test

Yorkshire playing Northumberland in a 50 over warm up game. Quite a few ex Durham and academy players involved and a few club Stalwarts.
Northumberland off to a decent start 47/0 off 9.Two ex academy bats opening Alistair Appleby and Sol Bell.
