Anyone remember the Vauxhall Lotus Carlton

I worked for Lotus and had the privilege of driving many cars around the test track in Hethel, never a Carlton though as the one we had was a show piece.

Top food and a lesson in life waiting for it in the take away .
Chef went up to the Fountain garden in later years . Died a few years back

I quite liked the Granada cosworth
Not many on the roads
I drove loads in my time at Ford, always funeral cars so crawled along at 5mph ordinarily.

Sunbeam Lotus as well...
Just about to post that as remember them both

Also seen a Lotus Cortina but never been on one of those (MK1 or MK2) but been in the other 2 but never owned one. Not many Cortinas left.

Bloody hell. Noticed the thread and it stirred a memory about us having a Carlton. Had a Sunbeam as well

Fatha man. There was Lotus versions of your sad looking dad cars

When the Vauxhall Lotus Carlton was launched in 1990, it had a list price of £48,000.

It was a 3.6 fast saloon.

There are two for sale currently on Autotrader with either 60,000 miles and 85,000 miles on them.

The prices - £89,000 and £78,000.
Personally if I was interested in that sort of thing I think I'd save £40K and get one of these instead:

Not as quick but then nobody is going to buy one of these nowadays and actually rag it about.
