Anyone not wanting Europe?

Tell that to the fans of Villa tonight and Palace ahead of Wednesday. They’ll likely be the best days of their football-lives.

If we did get there and did as well as Palace in the Conference League, I wouldn’t be too bothered about a relegation battle or going down. I’ve seen it numerous times and we always come back. What Palace have on Wednesday if once in a lifetime.
Very Well Said.👏👏👏👏👏

Days like those very quickly get forgotten. The mags turned against Howe even though they got further than ever in the CL . Leicester sacked their manager very soon after winning the league and are in real shit now , Spurs have won stuff lately and been in finals yet they are in turmoil . I could go on . Fans very quickly forget .

I doubt anyone at the trophy winning moments will forget (although I get your point about getting at the manager son after). It’ll still be the best day ever for Wigan/ Swansea/ Birmingham/ Portsmouth fans.

Need to go for it. Can’t wait about and assume the opportunity will come back in the future, need to grasp it while it’s here. Same silly argument as “we can’t get promoted because we’re not ready”

There is a lot on what you say.
Being in Europe may encourage some players to stay and some to join.

We have a statue outside the ground of the bloke who won our only trophy in the last 90 years mate and have another on the way of the hero of the day.
That was 53 years ago. Not a single relegation has made anyone forget that.

There’s no doubt we’ve massively underachieved and finally after all these years we look to have turned the corner and the future looks very bright. I would f***ing love to win the lot but at the minute we haven’t even been able to have a significant cup run in our own country .
I obviously hope the majority on here are right and I’m being a right Fanny but I just don’t want to run before we can walk .
I sincerely want us to stuff Chelsea on Sunday and if that brings Europe then we’ll have to deal with it but I can’t get excited about the Conference League and would prefer us not to be in it .

I bet Villa fans are gutted, they could have had a few extra league points without this Europe nonsense.
🤔
Completely different situations. Villa have worked their way up to being a top four club with a quality squad able to handle the impact of playing twice a week .

The same financial rule covering both Champions League and Conference League is a bit unfair, as much more amounts can be made in one of those!

However, the bit most don’t seem to understand is that a slightly lower percentage of a bigger sum is still potentially more money. So let’s go out and make more money as a European club. If we want success then it has to be done.

I can see why some people feel the squad might not be ready but we have to go for it if we want continual improvement.

I was watching the Everton match and one of commentators said they were speaking to moyes early in the season. He said he was shocked by how many rejection of first choice players he got because there was no European football.

Then there is the emotional/joy side for fans, it would give us some amazing times to remember and give us the opportunity to see some different places in the world. Surely entertainment is also part of what football is about.

Big yes from me.

Absolute cranks man. It was the same argument of those who said we should prioritise the league over the FA cup. No-one remembers finishing 13th. They remember winning cups and getting to finals.
in defense of sunlun fans, we've been gaslit for 50 years or more to expect disappointment! i still feel like i'm living some kind of dream currently.

Can't believe I'm asking this but there's a few lads in work this morning saying we shouldn't be looking to win on Sunday as if we qualify for europe it all but guarentees relegation next year...

Just wondering if anyone shares the same opinion? For me it's a no brainer, opportunities like this don't come around often and we should be snapping the hands off it.
its a double edge sword

but after decades struggle one season in the sun might be worth the risk

remember .... not soo long ago we were getting pumped by bolton away losing to lincoln in the play off...

Europe would present problems but the opportunities make them worth facing
