Anyone not wanting Europe?

Can't believe I'm asking this but there's a few lads in work this morning saying we shouldn't be looking to win on Sunday as if we qualify for europe it all but guarentees relegation next year...

Just wondering if anyone shares the same opinion? For me it's a no brainer, opportunities like this don't come around often and we should be snapping the hands off it.
Severe cognitive decline and too many people jumping about with no arms left having offered 17-th around all season. It needs to stop!

Also shows how competitive the division has been this season. Aside from Burnley and Wolves, at the bottom, and Arsenal & City it has been difficult to call most weeks.

I would hazard a guess 20+ years. Nobody springs to mind.

Bolton under Gary Megson, I think.

He rested his best players in a Uefa Cup QF. Poyet/ Hull level gutlessness.

Why did you post this? Just curious.. 🫣

Not bothered in the slightest, if we do we do, great season, if we don’t we don’t, great season, I’d rather be an established premier league club in the next few seasons than a conference league competitor, Europe can come later when we’ve got a squad to cope with the extra fixtures.

I don't get that at all. You can't pick and choose when to be relatively successful

Looking forward to playing Motherwell, Shamrock Rovers, Total Network Solutions and a few places we haven't heard of without direct flights from Ponteland.

Only the Brexiteers in our fanbase don’t want Europe

The people not wanting Europe are probably the same people who kept saying we needed longer in the championship to “consolidate”.

Look at how this season has gone with that lack of consolidation.

Sick of hearing "We're not ready for Europe". Surely these people are missing the point that better players will be willing to come to a team in Europe and I'm certain next seasons squad will be of a higher quality than our present squad.

Why would our squad be any better in a few years’ time?

In our previous spells in the top flight after the initial buzz of promotion it’s gradually circled the drain.

Not a very positive person are you, bet you think it's going to snow tomorrow and you cant cut the grass.

I’m positive in that I want us to smash Sunday, get into Europe and get me buzzing for the draw.

This ‘build patiently for tomorrow’ thing has never panned out how we want it in the past, so I’m saying you can’t assume it.

We have a mint team now and we should go for everything we can 😎

Even if we improve the squad this summer it might prove more difficult getting near the top 7 or 8 next season.

If Spurs survive they could kick on and do better, Chelsea will probably be a different team when the new manager takes over. Forest will be looking to finish higher & Leeds might fancy their chances. Just a few examples.

We cannot pick and choose when to be successful. Strike while the iron is hot.
