Anyone feeling sorry for Australia...

should be watching the Englands greatest moments just there, Its the test match where Butcher got a big hundred and Hussain has just been given out from the ball hitting his hip. The Australians were straight up as if it was a definite edge.

They got away with loads of stuff like this in that era.

Not sorry, but a more competitive series would have been nice

Who gives a shit about bad decisions from the past?

Fair enough, just trying to add balance to it ;)
I wanted oz to win that first test to give the riverside game a real edge

Still a good test I guess, but not a series that will live long in the memory

it was not a slight at anyone who wanted a more competitive series ;)

Just thought I would mention it on the controversies that have happened

Absolutely not! Anyone who wanted them to win a test or 2 for a close series isn't a proper England fan. I'd be happy to see us steam roller them in every Ashes series for the rest of time. Even better if every victory could be like Melbourne 2010 to boot. Fuck the cheating twats!

i was at headingly on the Saturday for that test - would never feel sorry for them - kick them when they down

No. And our domination over them wont last too long. 2 more series max. I think we are favourites for the return series on account of form, belief and confidence
going into the series. And that the Aussies still think losing means they picked the wrong team and change a few people every game.

cant get enough of beating them, but have a bet on them for the 5th test as well.

Yup.

Think we will find out they cheated a lot more in due course.

Remember Terry Alderman turning out to bowl in total cloud cover looking like Al Jolson?

Don't know about the next two series the Aussies don't seem to have a lot coming through still, they seem to have the same problem as the West Indies that a lot of youth are interested in other sports.[DOUBLEPOST=1376862006][/DOUBLEPOST]
Other way round would see them revelling in it so no.

Agreed I want to beat these 4-0, would've loved a whitewash.

I don't think we have a whole lot coming through. Without Pieterson, Trott, Swann and (heaven forbid) Amderson in a few years. Or if playing significantly declined. I don't see the 19-22 year old guys with special test pedigree. Hoping they pop up like Trott not show from young superstar like Bell. Otherwise we'll have a wave of players ending careers at the same time and an inexperienced line of players in behind.

I think in certain tests we'll start blending one or two in over the next few years.

We have Root, Bairstow, Broad, Cook, Compton in the current first 11 but agreed Trott, Bell, KP, Swann, Prior and Anderson will be missed.
