After watching a bit of 20/20 this week, it was promising to see a few young English lads doing the business too as well as the overseas imports.

I know they didn't qualify but that young lad from Surrey Roy looks mint. Meaker and Woakes look handy. I've always liked Denly from Kent, and that young skinny lad from Essex looked canny, Wheater I think. Any more that are coming through? How's Stokes and Borthwicks development at Durham coming along?

Interesting/ good to see that they have three non-whites playing (think the quota is only one). Black lad scored the runs for us as well.

It will be interesting to see how many of the Saffers play test cricket for England. I bet more than the England u19 team.

Seen Meaker a couple of times, looked pretty fast but wasn't really doing anything with it, hopefully he'll learn.

Saw Roy for the first time this week and was quite impressed with him. Also been impressed by what I've seen of Hales of Notts and Butler at Somerset. Taylor of Leicester looks a good technical player but doesn't look big enough to ever play the big shots in t20.

No real standouts from young English bowlers apart from Dernbach. I almost get the impression that he's fine bowling at the death and the problem with him is that he doesn't quite know how to bowl early on in an innings because people aren't going after him.

I would agree with all that particually the Dernbach assesment. I would also throw Joshua Cobb into the good young players list, oh and stokes of course

Good shout, missed him out. Hildreth looks canny too, albeit from the other end from Tresco.

Just watched watch consituted half a match of CB40 Essex vs The Welsh. I didn't realise how much we've missed someone like Simon Jones. Can you imagine if we made him the 6million dollar man and he wasn't cursed by being made of glass? All if/whats/maybes I know, but the guy is pure class, I dunno, just something about him.
