Yeah. Big exodus of players in last couple of years.
Money goes , mercenaries go with it . Sunderlands failing and they have fell back on the cash as a solution again today by the sounds.

Would love to see onions back at the Fell when he finishes , sort of a chubby brown figure. God knows they need something

Yes...Chubby was a great help to my lad when he was a junior. It would be nice to see Onions pass on some of his experience similarly.

Would love to see Sunderland relegated.
You need the Pure Football forum...

It would teach them for leaving the club in the hands of a mag banker for so long, is there a worse combination??? . That being said lets get the place back on track and make it something the city can be proud of again .

Relegation might give them the kick up the arse they need to sort the club out.

I think a rain day today will see the NEDL title race swing towards Littletown.

We had to beat Littletown last week and capitalise on our game in hand to overtake and it looks like the weather gods arent on our side.

The peculiarities of cricket are that sometimes its better to play and lose than not play and draw. Funny old gane
weather has always had a part to play in deciding who wins leagues. As said already it comes down to who really wants to play. In my experience of the NEDCL over the last few years is that games are called off far too early.

Its weird, a cricket league where teams would rather call off games than bother to try and get games on.

Be a bit crap if Onions effectively relegates the Fell. Saying that I don't think it'd do them any harm going down. To me the NEPL is too much about paid players whereas local cricket should all be about lads who've come through the ranks.

How could you have got them on at home, when you called your 2nd team games off at home on these days? There's no doubt you've been unlucky with the weather mind.
Also a win today wouldn't see you overtake us
My opinion on the weather and something I emphasise as a club is to do everything to get a game on no matter what the league position, the season is far too short. In this day and age their are no excuses for clubs not having covers and using them I'd be quite happy to wait till 4pm to get a game on

A win today wouldnt see us overtake no. What I meant was in order to have a chance we needed to beat you last week and win today. The bonus points collected last week meant we cant - should have been a bit clearer.

With regards to 2nds being called off, I take your point but different decision makers may have come up with different decisions.

Covers are a massive help but arent always the difference between getting games on or off. Run ups and outfield also have to be considered.

Are you confirmed as off today? Houghton is a quick drying ground so you must have as good a chance as any.

Kibblesworth still haven't called our 2s off which is a bit of a shock!

Fell wont be distraught if they drop out of league 1. happened with the 2nds last year and they have enjoyed being competative this year, despite having only 6-8 players in the side who are actual cricketers and losing young uns to the firsts .

Looks like we are on miraculously. Was not expecting anything today so even a start would be an improvement on what I thought. Never trust the forecasts.

I bet it will be a touch soggy at Kibblesworth. Only been there once but on that occasion the grass was longish so Id imagine it will hold a bit water of still the same. Good luck if youre playing mate

2nds is off

Teams that want to get on, will get on. The forecast has been the same for yesterday, rain in the morning and then clearing up.

Tantobie vs Wearmouth 1s off.
