Anthony Patterson

Take the local lad stuff out of it and he's a decent keeper at top end championship level. His distribution and ability to defend his box at corners and crosses is what'll stop him getting to the top of the game. If we can get £10m i'd snap their hands off, whoever wants him.

No Championship club will spend anywhere near that on a goalkeeper, mind. Especially one who probably isn't going to make the step up.

He's been a good servant, but we'll do well to get anything more than a couple of million for him imo.

Last couple of times ive seen him there has been bo problem with distribution. Seems to hit what hes aiming at

This, regardless of last night he's a great shot stopper but in the Prem your keeper needs the distribution to help start counter attacks and set pieces are ridiculously important now. I was always frustrated by how quiet he seemed to be when he should be commanding the box, don't expect him to turn into Pickford but seems there is stuff he could've worked on that apparently hasn't.

Ultimately there was a a great mutual relationship with him and the club, he made over 150 appearances in our darkest days and provided some top class saves at key moments. He's had amazing opportunities for a relatively young lad and is likely to get a 4 year deal somewhere on great money. Let's all part as friends.

Can't say i've seen enough of him in a Millwall shirt. It was a big problem in a Sunderland one.

Fully agreed

He's an excellent Championship keeper, wouldn't be opposed to letting him go for a nominal fee in order to secure him the right move. Burnley could be right for him, Dubravka's days look to be numbered.

I'd put him in the same bracket as Dan Neil. Someone who'll always be welcome at the SoL, and someone who I'd love to see progress into a Prem-level footballer at a club that can offer the game time.

Yet you are seriously trying to use a club's finishing position, especially one in which he played a grand total of 16 games in, to do exactly that?

I'm just using factual information on where he's finished in the seasons he's played at that level. Millwall finished higher this season with him in goal than they were when he arrived.

Lets not kid ourselves here. If he'd gone on loan to Leicester or Oxford you would have used relegation against him, just as you've used a questionable goal/mistake (I haven't seen it) last night as a baring on his overall ability.

If Millwall had won last night with him starring you wouldn't have had leverage or the reason to make the post - so you're kinda falling on your own sword.
No chance…has to be sold

He probably wants games. But given the issues we might potentially face with homegrown players it might be a good short term option to keep him till January and send Ellborg out for games he desperately needs too. Being honest they both seem to have the same kind of weaknesses at the moment.

Millwall supposedly want to sign him permanently. This was before play offs and irrelevant of which league they were in,
Well now they know,
Def not prem standard. But get some money for him.

Top half championship keeper. Certainly no more, or no less. Most sides in the top half would be satisfied if he was there keeper, and every side in the bottom half or below would be delighted.

I think it will be hard to get the sort of money people are talking about here. There's a lot of goalkeepers in the world and better value for money to be had for the types of teams that might be in for Patterson. No-one currently in the Championship can afford that and no-one in the Prem would think he was good enough. Possibly a relegated club but the pool of players is so big they don't need to spend that sort of money.

No chance. Championship inflation has gone up in recent years. League One players have moved around for that. He's a promoted, almost x2 promoted Championship keeper. Call me silly but I'd be asking £8-10m.

I can't see anyone spending that kind of money on a keeper at Championship level and realistically that's where he's going.
