Anthony Gordon

Aye that might be the case mate. But some poster was saying he should be nowhere near the England squad, which quite frankly is bonkers.

Gordon should start on the left imo. But as you say he has his favourites so it will undoubtedly be Rashford.

I don’t even think it will be Rashford mate. I think he will ask Foden or Saka to play out of position.

Be Foden more than Saka I'd imagine. I imagine I'm in the minority but I think Sakas form has dipped a fair bit. 4 goals in 12 matches since he scored two braces in a row. But he's got obvious quality. I don't think rashford will show that quality again while at Man Utd.

What? take off your red and white tinted specs man. He more than deserves to go, he's had a class season whether we like it or not.

Rashford plays in his position. He should get plenty game time.
My comment was referring to rashford if you follow that bit of the thread back
I’d have rashford in squad meself just think he offers something different from all the other wide men
Was the bit of the thread this was from @McGregor

I'm not certain that I'd take him, but he definitely deserves to be in the discussion and, as an England fan, I'll be happy enough if he's there. Edit: I'm on about Gordon here, looks like there's been a bit confusion

He'll definitely split opinions. I think he's quality mesel. Too good for Newcastle.
I'll be honest, I was only saying I wasn't sure if I'd take him because I forgot the squad size was expanded to 26.

Rightly or wrongly I think Southgate will start with Foden on the left to allow Bellingham the number 10 role, which I personally think makes sense. But in a 23 you'd only likely have one other option for most positions. Rashford would have a bit of a chance because you can also use him as a striker, but mainly you've got Grealish who I would expect to get a place, at which point although I like what Gordon offers, it could be hard to take him.

With 26 there's more room to take him and, because he offers something totally different to Grealish and Foden, I definitely think he warrants a place. Mind I've always been able to separate club from country, no issue with mag players at all if they make the national team stronger. At least until the tournament finishes, then they can fuck off again!

Completely forgot about Grealish tbh. But him and rashford imo have had poor seasons. Rashford as another poster has said shouldn't be anywhere near the squad, but will be.

Foden would be less effective on the left, but Southgate is well known for fitting his favourites in.

If the spurs v mags game was anything to go by, madison won’t be going looks like his form has dropped and he’s a bit rash in challengers if things aren’t going right.
grealish different kinda winger so hasn’t Gordon’s speed if we need that in the last 20mins of a game either. And rashford should be left at home playing on his Xbox cry wanking everyday as his heads gone this season.

The one great thing about all this is it shows the quality we have going forward this tournament. Hopefully Southgate sets out for teams to worry about us rather than being too defensive

He comes across as surprisingly articulate and intelligent on The Overlap interview.

I thought he would be the absolute opposite of that.

He’s having a very good season. I’d personally take him

He’s still a diving twat mind, but a good player

I was surprised they got him for the price they did to be honest. Quality player worth about 3 or 4 times what they paid now. Not sure where he fits in the England team like but needs to be part of the squad at least.
He fits in where Rashford will be selected to play. Been shite for years. Obviously he not of the quality of Foden or Saka. He is however, on form, head and shoulders better than Rashford.
Expect him to go and get a next to no time on the pitch.

What? He cost £40 million. There is no way he's worth £120 million man!
