Anthony Gordon to Bayern.

I'm not sure the sell on fee is percentage of profit, usually profit fees are 20% or more as lower than that is a piddling return.

They'll struggle to replace his goals.

Newcastle are a brilliant club for bang average footballers to advance their careers.

Number of players who have left Newcastle for big money only to never live up to the hype is staggering.

Sissoko, Demba Ba, Andy Carroll, Ben Arfa, to name a few.

Go to Newcastle. Be a big fish in a small pond, get over hyped, over-rated then get the big money move and do nothing.

Other than Andy Cole, Wijnaldum and Milner, im struggling to think of any big money sales theyve had who have ever proved to be a good buy for the other team.

Yep, Europe is gonna play a massive part and how fit the players can keep themselves. Palace is a weird one, if iraola goes there and they buy well they maybe OK but looks like they will lose mateta this summer so thats a big loss.

A lot to be said for only playing once a week with no euro fatigue compared to what will be smaller squads and that grind period of 2 or 3 games a week plus traveling so never get to train properly
The Thursday - Sunday turn around is tricky.

No AFCON this season though. Palace lost Sarr to AFCON, Munoz got injured at the same time so we lost our right hand side attack, & Mateta was trying to hide a knee injury so was sluggish.

Our league position wasn't great, but we got through it. I'm hoping the experience this year will help next season.

Regardless, it will be a fun ride.

I should have put St. Maximin in that list as well. Every mag had him down as a £50m winger. Went to Saudi for £20m(ish) and that was it... couldnt even cut it in the Saudi league!!!!

But while he was at Newcastle all the media and pundits fawned over him. Some of them even calling him "world class".

I think the same will happen if Guimaraes goes. They'll get big money and he'll fade into obscurity.

Didn't they sell Micky Quinn to Coventry for 3 sausage rolls and a bag of Pork scratchings after buying him for only a box set of Rising Damp on VHS?

He's streets ahead of Garnacho mind.

People may have said the same about Olise though...
Gordon has the same selfish vibe about him. But yes, streets ahead. As is evrøery other winger in Premier League. I'd pick Angulo over him every day
