Agree, he's not dumb. I think he seems on the arrogant side of confident (lots of players are), but I agree he often speaks well

His comments were stupid and probably summed up an aspect of why we beat you twice to be honest

Alarm bells ring when a player downs tools to get a move!! Character is important especially within a good group. They took him on and shouldn’t be surprised at his attitude now! Missa the same.

Have to agree with you there unfortunately.
I saw him speak earlier in the season and was surprised how intelligent he came across. But then after the derby his comments obviously pissed me off and just sounded silly.
 
He is decent like. He's flawed, but his pace and work rate means he's very effective when used correctly, even if he is clearly a bell end.

I think Rashford is more talented than him, if we're talking England's left side, but he's also lazier and less likely to do any defensive graft - which we will need at times, certainly in games against top sides.

Fwiw, which ever of them starts will likely be replaced by the other after about 60 mins anyway, so we'll see lots of both of them seeing as there's about 6billion games at this world cup.
 
not a chance gordon doesnt start for england , been our best player the last 12/18 months regardless of how he's played for the mags in that time

I get what you are saying with the tactics however that’s in theory.
I’ve watched Gordon a few times and regardless of the statists I don’t get the hype about him.
He doesn’t track back, has zero heart, can not defend and pace is the only real thing he has.
Teams will work him out and render him ineffective which is what has happened this season.
There is a reason why his next move will be abroad.
He isn’t good enough for the prem.
 
Had a very good season for them a couple of years back but reckon he's a bit of a one-season wonder. Very quick and direct but from a technical point of view I never rated him at Everton and most of my Mag mates reckon he's largely been awful in the league ever since he didn't get his move to Liverpool after Euro 2024, and that he's only looked arsed in the Champions League when he saw it as a chance to put himself in the shop window.
 
In all fairness I do think the lad could be an impact player and hopefully Tuchel has picked him for that role . If we are relying on Gordon as a first eleven player ,football isn’t coming home .
 
Barcelona also apparently interested according to Downie.

Likewise I don’t really get the hype. Certainly not for Barca, Bayern etc… level
