Anthony Gordon to Bayern.

Did he know those two clubs were in for him when he downed tools 2 months ago?
Must have known about bayern like.
Personally think he'll do well at barca, team is on another level completely to the mags and the Spanish season isn't half as hard as the English prem

I really didn't see this coming. I hope Hansi Flick knows what he is doing.
Maybe it's all part of a plan to bring Kane to Barça
He did play extremely well against them this season. I wonder if it's a similiar case to that of Torres going to Chelsea. Basically scouting him based on performances against them rather than seeing the whole package.

I believe profit on player sales will now spread over 3 years under SCR compared to PSR. On the plus side for the Mags they can put down most of the sale price as profit as his book value will be pretty low given he has been there for three years. That means pretty much £20m per year for the next few years. Healthy but not game changing.

That being said, the timing of this before 30th June means the profit can be able to be used for this last year of the PSR regime as well as being able to go towards the new SCR calculation for next season. Part of me wonders if the Mags might have had more of an issue with PSR for this last year that I'd assumed (seems unlikely given the Isak sale but it makes you wonder)

6 goals and 2 assists last season in the league....... hell of deal for the mags unfortunately.

15% of £69.3m goes to Everton. Let’s just say £10m (assuming the sell on clause was based on fee and not profit). So £59m to the mags.

Gordon was signed for £45m over a reported 5 year deal in 2023. £9m per year. (£27m)

It’s going to have a positive impact on PSR - but what happens to that extra £18m outstanding - is that still amortised over the remaining two years of what his contract was or does it need to be paid up now he’s moved on?
I think the price was 1st quoted by the European press and was €70m, the UK press was lazy to change it to pounds.
That's £60m, £50m remaining after Everton get their 15%.

If we would only made a £5m profit on one of our star players (Mukiele, Roefs, Sadiki...) that would be a bad business model.

Huge bit of business for them. The player isn't as great as made out, and has a chip on his shoulder, which will cause problems eventually. To get that kind of fee is massive and a very easy decision to make.

Gordon's ego will get stroked for a while over there as the Spanish league isn't a patch on the PL, especially playing for one of the top two in that league. He should do well, if he (and his skin) can adjust to life in Spain.....For a season or two anyway.

Don’t even think being a wanker affects his rating on here. He is a Mag thus, to many, he is shite. He isn’t world class but, Kane & Rice aside (possibly Pickford) none of the England squad is.
He can cause problems to any side with his pace and on his good days he is a problem for any side.

His good days don't seem to come around often enough but his biggest problem is between his own ears.

Even by footballer standards he's dreadfully thick

It probably explains why Barca are in the financial mess they are in,
Paradoxically it would demonstrate that Barça are finally shedding their financial woes. They must have had assurances from La Liga that they are in full compliance with fiscal rules. The 1:1.
Sell for a 100, buy for a 100.
Whether it's money well spent, only time will tell.

Probably. Unlikely his agent wasn’t aware and even more unlikely that he kept it to himself. The counter ‘argument’ being Bayern don’t seem type to welcome a player who does that to force a move. Barca would probably like him more!

He isn’t thick by any means. Unless you means some of his on-field decisions?

I think it is a great deal for them up the road. 70million for a player who’s own belief in his talent severely outweighs the actual ability.

I also think Barnes is better.
See Villa are circling Barnes who is apparently “open” to moving back to the Midlands

After Gordon there’s also Barnes, Tonali, Livramento being linked away. Can’t see the mags selling too many, surely?

Tripper, Willock, Schar, Kraft on the way out.

Joelinton, Bruno, Woktermade, Wissa all set to stay?

No champions league money this season too. Would be a shame to see their better players leave….

If Barcelona no longer want Marcus Rashford, should we be taking a look?
Very high wages but he’s quality and cooks do a job on the left or even up front.
Doubt the fee is much something like 25-30m as manu just want shot of him, but the wages for us at least would be astronomical, thats before even trying to persuade him to make the drop in team quality in fairness.
Can see him shuffling off to Italy tbh
