Another u-turn ahead?

Saw someone comment earlier that Boris generally takes his opinion from whoever the last person was he spoke to. So every chance the U-Turn klaxon could be sounded here.

I did think this a few days ago but probably too late now, and as mentioned above, people will take no notice . Thatcher would have and enjoyed announcing the decision.

The easing of restrictions were announced because people were going to do it anyway, and fighting against it would have damaged relations with the public at large and reduced adherence in 2021. Far better to "allow" it and urge caution than say it's banned, not enforce it and have to fight a backlash of banning Christmas ...all the while everyone who's doing it now would have anyway.

The whole thing is a total waste of time anyway of course, as nothing is actually enforced. Are we seeing anybody at all fined for failing to quarantine or self-isolate? Or going to see their parents etc?

A total nonsense.

Dunno where this “ wey people will dee it anyway” shite has come from. Far better for central gov to say: strictly no mixing at all on Christmas because, like the entirety of 2020, there’s a f***ing pandemic, than, go on, take your chances and do the opposite of social distance with your family for five days when the whole year has been risky enough for two national lockdowns and it’s still rife.

What a f***ing waste of time, all them “sacrifices” we were told we were making seem. Why endorse such a drastic relaxing of the rules. Seems suicidal with vaccines now in play.
