Another Tyne Tunnel price rise in May 2024.



I don't mind a nominal charge, say a pound a trip, but it just seems like a money making scheme.
They have you over a barrel at the moment as the choice of going through Newcastle and the Tyne bridge is a non starter.
 
So it going to be £4.80 a day to use it in both directions.

Don't worry though, you can save 48p if you sign up to let them take money out of your bank directly.

They’ll be saying profits are used to invest in public transport
If you have a non cz vehicle the only option to not using tunnel is a1
We must be only area of the country where a strategic part of our road network is a toll road and not subsidised for locals

It was supposed to be made free after it was paid for when it was built originally.
