That’s way too much for the umpire to be looking at when the bowler is about to bowl though. How can they look for that and no balls and then adjust their sight to concentrate on whatever happens after that.Think it’s been pointed out on here before, but the simple way to stop the non striking batsmen standing outside their ground is for the umpires to call the run short.
At lower levels it would have to be obvious, but it's a similar situation with no balls. Basically if either the bowler or the batsman is taking the piss, it'll be obvious and the umpire can call it.That’s way too much for the umpire to be looking at when the bowler is about to bowl though. Could happen at the highest level where the third umpire can keep an eye on it, but not for any levels underneath that.
Top level it’s an absolute no brainer and in all honesty mankad has never been anymore than a top level Indian cricket issue. That’s way too much for the umpire to be looking at when the bowler is about to bowl though.
