I watched some other video where someone was saying that it was a myth that looking directly into the sun damages your eyes, nothing religious about it, just it didn't actually damage your eyes. Now I don't really want to find out to be honest, when it's sunny my goggles turn dark anyway and it's far more comfortable looking about when there's blinding sun. Could be a source of embarrassment for his dad, who is a regular on Football Weekly and quite an intelligent and erudite man. Maybe the hosts will be charitable and not
mention it.
 
Not really seeing why this is embarrassing or why he's being chastised for being Christian? I think the point he's making is that artificial light is damaging to our eyes, but wearing eye wear to filter it is seen as being weird? Live and let live, he's not doing himself or anybody else any harm?
