And they thought they were through!

Fulwell for first leg , leazes for 2nd .
The ticket at tinpot park was 4 quid .
Did not have a drop of ale all day fffs .

Back to work next day in Gateshead and was told Sunderland were soft as shite for some bizarre reason 😂😂😂😂

Clock stand roker end for me that match. I worked at Wallsend dry docks at the time. I was told by a mag apprentice fitter that they were going to invade the pitch if we were winning.
Sadly they only got to the half way line.
I attended. Fabulous night
There was a nasty element among the mutant support in the 80s.

After the derby home humiliation and us going up it looked like they were getting what they deserved until Keegoon and Hall almost achieved summat.

ALMOST 🤣🤣🤣

I was in the clock stand paddocks for the first leg and the leazes end for the second. Absolutely unbelievable night that second leg. My first ever away game and still never been bettered 36 years later.

Never noticed before but Roy Aiken was nearly passed hardyman when he hit the ball.
Was about to post the same, he was the one who got to the ball first as well meaning Hardyman could only boot the keeper as couldn’t get his foot right around the ball.
