I was standing just to the right, not far from those 2 daft mag twats jumping all over at the front of The Fulwell when Burridge saved it.. They got a canny yoking getting dragged out.

Clock stand roker end for me that match. I worked at Wallsend dry docks at the time. I was told by a mag apprentice fitter that they were going to invade the pitch if we were winning.
Sadly they only got to the half way line.
I attended. Fabulous night

Me dar was at Parsons at the time, and working nightshift for the second leg. He said when Gates scored all the radios went off and him and his mate Micky from Ryhope went to the bogs to discuss what had just happened/celebrate.

Went back and slowly the radios went back on. Eventually the second went in, radios off again and smashed, back to the bogs, wild celebration.

Anyone watching the vid of the second leg, check out the mag who slams his shirt down and stamps on it in the centre circle after the pitch invasion
