Not enough. And it remains to be seen across the course of the season just how good the ones we’ve signed recently will be. Are we confident that Alese, Matete, Trai Hume, Bass, Roberts all come into the side and perform at the standard? I’m not and I don’t think Neil is / was either. And I’m not sure he thinks a teenage Costa Rican and French teenager are the answers either. What was agreed RE recruitment between the club and Neil upon his appointment we don’t know. But Neil hasn’t been content with it.

As I’ve said previously, it’s about blend. Will we appoint a competent manager who is entirely happy with our recruitment process? Time will tell now I suppose
He mentioned recruitment on more than one occasion. He knows exactly the clubs position on it.

This is the downside of the “model”. Head Coches are seen as temporary and interchangeable but every now and again you find someone special both in terms of their tactical ability and their “fit” with the club/supporters and we should have been smart enough to realize that.

Cue someone coming in that can’t organize a birthday party and the fans can’t take to.
Get scouring this:

No sane person deliberately wants a rolling contract when you could have a 3 or 4 year deal, especially in football management.
Neil deliberately wanted that by all accounts so as soon as anything like this came up he could fuck off no questions asked.
Hate to say it like but it looks like we’ve been played a kipper.

wheres the logic in that though? he didn't want to sign a 3 or 4 year deal here, to keep himself available in case a 3 or 4 year deal came up at somewhere like stoke?

something stinks. unless Stoke just have the means to offer him something that we couldnt.

I hope when he's sat in the dugout at a half full bet365 stadium in front of a fanbase who are (at best) ambivalent about him, he thinks to himself "what the fuck have I done"?

Its going to be a bloodbath tomorrow (and most games thereafter)

Forget the statement, I understand it's done. Alex Neil is going to take the Stoke City job.

This. He's worth binning the system off for imo. Unfortunately I don't see there being any chance of the club doing that.
