AN Press conference - CANCELLED

Why would we give permission? Surely we would make it as hard as possible for them to take him.....at least get some compensation for the remainder of his pathetic contract. This is horrendous news.

Can we deny permission? He’s on a rolling contract. Great call that was.

If he’s talking to Stoke he is not staying. That never happens. If he’s speaking to another club his head is already out the door.

The reasons he is leaving are very simple:

1) More money
2) Longer contract
3) Autonomy to bring in players he wants rather than solely working under a Director of Football model
4) Can move back to his family home in the north-west

99.9% of players and managers couldn't give a shiny shite about how many fans we have or how many trophies we've won before they were born.
Yer right there mate but his family actually live in Cheshire which is a stones throw from Staffordshire (Stoke)

We MUST give our best Manager for years what he wants, no ifs or buts, not sorting him with a bumper contract after promotion was criminal.

Cos he's on a rolling contract and basically can't refuse

personally don't think he will go.

I think with 6 months left the club couldn't stop him speaking to stoke and I think the media have spun it as sunderland give permission etc etc.

expect to see him come out with a real contract with sunderland on better terms

Caveat: I'm often wrong.

It would be a shame if he left as he is a good fit for us. I wouldn't be confident we would get someone better but, the if the leaves he leaves=, the world keeps on turning.
