Amad Diallo

Like it or not he's better than Winchester and matete in midfield and won't be going anywhere until then 2 have gone

Matete out on loan and Winchester should be shifted as well. Based on these two French players coming in. Got 8 players contesting for 3 cm positions if you include Onien and disregard Matete and Winchester.
Didn't he play well in a CB 2 with Sanderson?

He was OK. Much better in a three where there is less responsibility. Was poor v Stoke the other week but did well v QPR and at the weekend.

Unless you think he's better than most of Wright/Batth/Ballard/Alese/Van Hecke (or other CB signing instead)?
He is the kind of utility player we need to keep and has proven his worth in Ballards absence already.

In a back 3 but if we switch to a back 4 and still sign a CB it really limits where he can play.

Ch is definitely his best position, In a 2 he has to be the one to attack the first ball though.

Personally I'd like the coach to sit him down and explain that it's his best position and coach himinto a decent centre half. I believe he thinks he's just filling in and wants to be in midfield

Ride side of a back three without a doubt.

Wouldn't have him anywhere near midfield tbh. Just bombs about like a bairn.

Makes more sense if we're going to playing 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 but seems silly if we're going to persist with 3 at the back.
It looks like we are trying to create options in available formations. But our default won’t be 2 up front it will be 433. No use knackering both Stewart and Simms when you can rest one then attack with both upfront if the opposition or during game it’s required.

Stewart and Simms just need to do running, cardio and shooting drills to keep up with these nippy lads.

The thoughts of Rangers fans about him would hardly set your pulse racing.

Most Rangers fans I know (and I know lots) would have been happy for him to get another chance this season...

You're on a right downer with everything at the minute like
@Doberman thoughts on him?

Clearly talented but it just didn't click for him at Rangers. I'm excited to see what he does here.

Seems a bit of a risk letting Diamond out on loan, and he's already man of the match for Lincoln yesterday first game.
Doesn’t seem like any kind of risk at…we have wide players coming out of our ears and he was probably 4th or 5th choice with more coming in. If a year on loan turns him into a better player then great but he hasn’t made the breakthrough into regular first team footy here.

I haven't looked through the full thread but assume someone has already pointed out how disappointing he was for Rangers last year. He has a touch of the Bellion about him (albeit a bit more skillfull).

Definitely looks a bit of a show pony, with loads of pace and tricks, but more often than not he looked like a passenger.

If we sign him and kept diamond we would have 7 wingers for a max of 2 positions. Perfect to get diamond out on loan, see if he can take the next step. Not doing the lad down but his motm was a game that for 70 mins was against 10 men in the jpt.
