So fletcher is only average because he scored goals in absolute dog shit teams at Burnley, wolves and here?

The questions I'd ask is how good would lukaku, sturridge etc look in our side? And how many fletcher would get with the supply they receive.

I'm hoping jozy comes good but he's looking clumsy and ineffective so far.

This is one of the most embarrassing threads I have ever read on here. From flag waving biased American supporters who seem to be talking a different game to abusive Durham Country hicks... Talk about culture clash

But he dosent have that turn of pace, so he's average. Lukaku has everything, and is comfortably better.

Fletcher is a good player but if he was anywhere near as good as made out to be on here he'd lift us up from where we've been. Good strikers can do that-look at Bent when he was here. He scores in poor teams, and that's great, but he dosent score enough to justify the hype in my opinion. Im glad we have him, he does a job, but the idea that he could be on a par with the likes of Lukaku is ludicrous.

which is obviously what i was suggesting with the comment "haven't seen enough of lukaku to comment":lol:

Lukaku and Sturridge are good enough to repeatedly make their own chances though, whereas Fletcher lacks the strength/pace/trickery to do that.

I agree to a point, with more pace he'd probably cover more ground and get on the end of more half chances, not about strength as he holds/sheilds the ball better than either IMO or trickery as I think technically he's better than both and he is a very good footballer.

Those two would still struggle in our current side though, but probably score a few more. Both would be able to go over the top more than Fletch, but they're not one men teams able to beat everyone at will and with sides sitting that bit deeper because of their pace (if they were our only route of attack) and having little or no support around them they too would be isolated often trying to play with their backs to goal.

Fletcher needs either better service or more support around him, his game lends itself to it. That however is hard to achieve with our current players and the system we are utlising in central midfield, though it's obvious why we're doing it and it's working reasonably well for us.

If Fletcher had pace I reckon he'd be one of the league's best. He's an excellent footballer. But without that extra yard he can't get away from/through the back line to consistently have a go/get through, and so is limited to having to rely on service. Still reckon Jozy and him could be a strong partnership but I see why Poyet is sticking with 5 midfield at present.

Jozy and Borini should start next match. Fletcher and Giaccherini should be dropped.

Fletcher still looks unfit or maybe he's still hurting...Bring him off the bench for the last 15-10 minutes.

Giaccherini is just too weak for this league...maybe he would be better off as a sub going against defenders who are too tired to muscle him off the ball....

Jozy and Borini as our 2 forwards from now on....Let's give the younger guys a chance to play.

We can't keep throwing the same team out there...give others a chance....I'd even replace Johnson for Mavrias and Colback with Cabral.
You back with the Altidore shite again? He's shite, was at Hull, is here and needs peddling to f***ing anywhere but just get the idle, pointless waste of space away from my club. So in reflection no, Fletcher all day long for me.[DOUBLEPOST=1385306593][/DOUBLEPOST]

Oh and re 'Our' forwards, you've previously posted SAFC as 'Your team need to change' etc, so don't come over as one of us.

He can score at a lower level than the Premier league........he's already proved that... and much like David Healy and (imo a very valid comparison) Stern John he can score for his country. I've seen enough of him however to state confidently that a) he won't make it at this level and b) he'll be put out of his misery in a few weeks time.[DOUBLEPOST=1385277362][/DOUBLEPOST]

Fail.

Really? Because I said soccer instead of football? Everything I said was spot on, you delusional fucker. You know shit about shit.

Why should Colback be dropped like?

every country has their word. germans, spanish, italians, brazilians, etc, don't say 'football' like they got a stick up their ass. they failing then? hmmm?? eh, f***ing illiterate midget motherfucking island monkey twat waffle? exactly, bitch.

Try and watch football a bit before you make daft comments Yankee Doodle.

Fletcher has the quality to be playing for a top 6 team imo.

 f***ing hell. You're in nee position to be slating the yanks for their Altidore opinions when you post shite like that.

In total in league and cup in England, Jozy's tally is,

Played 39.
Scored 3. (2 in the cup)

Make what you will of it.

International Cap for Fletcher 13 games 1 goal. Both come up to 1 goal every 13 games. We need Strikers or might as well just play CW and Ji upfront at this point as their ratio are boith higher then the two.
