Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Without a replacement for Clarke?
Think Isidor would be the replacement for Clarke. Failing that, Mundle or Rusyn.

Pinning hopes on total unknowns
Football has always been pinning hopes on total unknown. You're not going to know every single player that plays football and even pinning hopes on the known isn't always successful. i.e. Fernando Torres at Chelsea.

Poor Mendy, clear now that he has been a pawn this summer for our owners manipulation of the fans. Offer 3 times less than the selling clubs valuation of their star striker.....have no alternative options until the day you sell you star player for £10milion less than his value, then push loads of rumours of us signing the next Harland 🤣

The conspiracies people make up on here are absolutely wild

Think Isidor/Mundle/Rusyn takes Clarke's position and then Mendy/Simic/Mayenda up front. The transfers we bought last season would be squad depth but Hemir and Bennette need to go for game time and probably Pembele too. Before Stewart was injured, Clarke wasn't our main threat so fingers crossed if we get those three the damage of losing him is mitigated.
Isidor is not a winger

Rusyn is not a winger and is just a dogshit footballer with no real pace, physicality, skill or positional sense.

Mundle definitely has something and Watson is progressing at a rate of knots.

We’ve missed out on Millar and Rak-Sakyi because speakman is inept, but it might be nice to see Benson or Poku come in. Even then they’re predominantly left footed so it depends whether we want to persist with inverted wingers.

The reality is that we’re selling the best player in the league and whoever replaces him will be a significant downgrade.

Our transfer business has been disappointing again after a decent start.

Exactly mate.

Everyone pretty much knew Clarke would be away this window.

This board has been crying out for 2 strikers

Looks like that's all happening now
It's the fee that's disappointing me most about Clarke moving on, hopefully Simic, Isodor, and Mendy come in and do well.

Potentially, also perhaps due to the owner providing a lack of funds? I don't think Speakman is sat on a pot of gold just unwilling to use it.

£2.5m on Rusyn, £2.2m Hjelde, £1.6m on Seelt…god knows how much on the rest of the shite Speakman bought.

That’s not defending KLD who quite obviously is unwilling to invest in the squad to any great degree

Issue we have is that even with those signings, they also have to agree to what seems a very strict wage structure. So even if you could buy say that Liam Miller who went to Hull for 2.5mil, we then probably wouldn't be able to afford what wage he would want. Generally we are left with cheap signings who will accept a low wage

If we can’t afford Millar’s wages we should close the doors.

I bet you were slating Jack Clarke in L1
Find where I was then

From memory, I only remember commenting what my mate said about him thinking he didn’t want to be here when he was on loan.

You do like to be presumptuous about fellow fans you don’t know, don’t you?
