Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)


Still half expecting us to announce a different striker, it just seems odd to be putting all our eggs in one basket who isn’t proven at this level. I wonder if the takeover is just causing more focus to be put in this target rather than others?

Think the fact we've put an incresed fofer only recently suggests that he is the one we are chasing, imagine there's other targets but this is the one we really want

Difficulty for us now is Mayenda has just shown signs he can really step up if given the time. I don't think it would be right to then relegate him to 3rd choice, would probably put him back to where he was a few months back.

I leaning towards saying bring mendy in and leave it at that, give Mayenda the next few games on the back of the weekend, then let the pair of them fight it out.

Stats don’t really say that, he only played 423 minutes last season and scored 2 so a goal every 212 minutes (a little under 1 per 2.5 games). Just reading number of appearances and goals isn’t really that useful in a lot of cases.

There is also the season before at Preston to consider as well when he scored a goal every 210 minutes.

Shouldn’t be relying on Mayenda & just one other we need three options and Rusyn doesn’t look like one of them at this point in time.
