Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Ba would benefit from a top end League One loan imo

Too good for L1. 7 goal contributions last season, or one every 223 minutes whilst not playing LW (which was an awful watch, so I've not included those minutes), shows that he's good enough to be competitive in this league.

Worth noting that he only made goal contributions whilst playing on the right wing. That's his strongest position, imo. Every time he got a run of games there last season with plenty minutes he had a good return, and we had good results. See below.

As others have said, his decision making lacks; playing in a league he's too good for won't help that.

If he wants to be playing he’ll need to go either on loan or for good.

He must be so far down the pecking order now he’d need a plague to go through the squad before he’d be anywhere near

And he's still young and shouldn't be written off. Hopefully Mayenda will continue to score and improve and fans begin to understand what developing young players actually means.

I think a lot of people said this would be a one that runs to deadline, he will come in this week I reckon, wonder if it's a case of once they get this Niang in they'll bring their price down and let him go

if this was the case, he'd obviously miss the next two fixtures, but would then have two weeks during the international break to get up to speed.

having watched the youtube (i know) clips he looks very strong, powerful, and can finish. i hope we get it him, i cant say im confident we will.

It's gonna be an interesting week ahead, I really hope we do get him like you say, he looks very promising for this side

RLB has started really well and the players are looking good it would be such a shame if we didn't get what we've needed for so long and just bank on mayenda, which isn't fair on him, and would be largely disappointing again - i'm not so sure they have any excuses left for not signing a ready made striker to improve the team

Mayenda will have sky high confidence but I still wouldn’t feel confident backing him for a full season at 19. I had him down to contribute 5/6 goals this season and he’s already got 2.

Be a real shame if we don’t end up with a senior centre forward

One game, albeit a brilliant one, doesn't change the fact he's a bairn and no where near ready to lead the line for a full season here.

Absolutely. He’s got the qualities in him and you can see the potential. But I wouldn’t want to play him for 46 games yet. He could be a huge player in years to come for us

RLB clearly knows we need another striker option in the side. Up to Speakman and the recruitment team to bring one in.

Not a fan of Ba to be honest. Think we have much better but all about opinions.
He looked miles off it in pre season and against Preston, Roberts looks like he has brought his A game so far this season which doesn't help his cause trying to break in to the starting 11. If the club gets an offer for him then they should seriously consider it, not just for the club but for the lad too.

Don’t see it at all.

By the end of this month Ba will have been at the club for two years. I’m not sure we’ve seen any improvement from him in that time at all. He still appears as immature, has shockingly poor decision making and seems far too easy to knock off the ball.

I appreciate he’s still a relatively young man but if after two seasons we’ve seen no improvement I think the writings on the wall.

Get rid for me
