I said earlier 3 million euros (2.6 million pounds) would surely land him, possibly less. He's the man we've identified & i don't think that's a ridiculous price even given his age so I can't understand why we don't just get it done. Personally I reckon the issue is that we tried to get him the same way we got Batth, technically a free transfer from the club and we just buy out the contract. Now the new lot have come in and are demanding an actual transfer fee and we are reluctant to do it because of his age.

I highly doubt the offers are that far apart mind. The deal has been close enough for us to reach an agreement with the player. No chance that happens when the clubs are nowhere near agreeing a deal.

But we had, it would appear, agreed a deal with the previous owners.

Because he's still trying to force his departure and maybe they'll accept some offer before the window closes.
Hopefully a like for like replacement for Caen.
