Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Bit of a controversial opinion here but... why don't we pay the 2.5 mill they wanted 6 weeks ago and have a striker in the team whose settled in and match fit ready for the new season. Every point and every league game counts.

Haggling over a striker, but nutted stupid money on endless shite the last few windows.

Pay the money and get it done ffs.
We tried to pay peanuts and ended up looking like chimps 👍

Poveda will be a player.
Fingers crossed mate. Hope he is.
So your answer to having wasted money in the past is that we should waste more now?

If that article is to be believed and we want him/think we can get him for 2-2.5m you think we should just pay the 5m they apparently want? For the sake of a few games, the first of which we won anyway?

Just want to be clear about what you’re suggesting because the people saying “just get a striker in” insist they don’t advocate over spending when you push back on it.

I'm not suggesting wasting money. I'm suggesting buying a striker in plenty of time to help us progress this season. Why we still haven't got at least one striker in (even a loan) before the start of the season is crazy. It'll take any player 4 weeks to get fit and settled. A striker signing should have been made 4 weeks ago at the latest.

So, you’re confident they’ll just cave at the end of the window and accept our initial deal?

You’re avoiding the question. He’s our main target and presumably we think we can get him for half the price they want if we wait. Do you think we should pay the 5m now?

I have no idea, but I assume the club are confident of it. They have a choice between keeping a player who has stated three times he wants to leave. He stopped training with them, came back to training for a day, then stopped again. Doesn’t seem to me like he’s just going to get on with it.

The hope would be they are willing to take a more reasonable fee as the window comes to a close, rather than keep an unhappy player around.

Do you think we should pay double to get him in for a couple of extra weeks? No one will ever confirm that’s what they want when you press them, but it’s genuinely the only other option than waiting it out.

Do you think they’ll lower their price over the next fortnight?

If they only value him the same fee we paid for Rusyn then I episiotomy want him anyway.

The club clearly do, because they haven’t met the bid and they haven’t moved on to other targets.

I have no idea, but I can see the logic that 2m quid is better than a player who isn’t interested/pissed off ag the club for denying him his move.

Then surely they would accept it with time to replace him? What sense would there be in caving on the last day for them?

Why did we wait until the deadline to sell Stewart? That’s your best chance to get the fee you want, if the other club won’t match it then push comes to shove and you have to make a decision to take the money offered or keep an injured/unhappy player.

It’s a case of who blinks first. You still won’t answer if you think we should just pay the fee.

Knowing us lot we’ll have refused to pay for priority boarding for him and he’ll get fined because his suitcase won’t fit in the sizer! 🙄
Hope we did refuse “priority” boarding tbh. Waste of money- everyone on the plane arrives at the same time??!?

Same reason we waited to sign Grigg

I will answer and yes, if he is the player we have identified to solve a problem that ruined our entire last season then and that’s what his price is. We’ve been trying to sign him all summer
An episiotomy is a cut (incision) through the area between your vaginal opening and your anus.

It still sounds like you don't want him like as I wouldn't want that either.
 I mean it’s an extreme way to have a go at Speakman, no doubt
