Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

100%, but they wont be forced into anything. They honestly couldn't give a toss. KLD will just stop coming to games again, simple. There's something up with all this like, the striker situation and not spending hardly anything. KLD still looking to sell imo.
Spot on mate, something very fishy going on

Watching this first weekend of the season it looks like there are goals in this league. We simply cannot make the same mistake as last year and fail to give the manager the tools to compete.
One weekend of footy means nowt. it'll be exactly the same rough average goals as recent seasons by end of the season. i'm sure i seen some stats which suggested the opening weekend of leagues are higher than average scoring anyway.

Of course it doesn’t but what I’m saying is, there are some good forward players in this league. We can’t be left behind. We really were last.

We've already been left behind by not signing one yet still and if one comes in then how long will it take for them to settle is my concern especially if from a foreign league. Jebbison would be the best out of what touted as he should come in ready to go.

Just kicks the problem down the road though. Hoping that mayenda improves enough in a year basically

Dunno if he's actively looking to sell, but I'm sure if someone were to come along and make him a good offer, him and his little Uruguayan chum would certainly consider it.

He looks to have bitten off more than he can chew tbh and is showing his inexperience as are the rest of the board he put together.

He needs some major investment to come on board, and an old footballing head as a DoF if he's serious about promotion. It won't happen under this current set up who cant even fund a decent striker at this level.

Wouldn’t he have shipped Clarke by now and pocketed the cash if he was looking to sell?

Not really as if he can convince an investor that we are close to going up then he would get more money- plus I’m of the opinion they think they can get more money out of clubs close to the end of the window (look how much activity we always do at the end compared to the start) and would look to sell in the last week of August.

Can't believe I'm defending transfer policy, but to be fair we didn't have a fit left back. I'm not sure we paid £2m for him either, certainly not up front.

Granted it would probably have been better to sign someone else, but he might improve, he's still young.
Not a chance we paid 2 mill for him

Well the basis of our list is our shortlist from 2017. It was found in a locker that got jammed, but has recently been reopened and the lock replaced following the investment in the academy and stadium. Unfortunately 6 out of the 8 players have since retired. One has changed his telephone number and the other has had a career change.
Would have been better if you finished the other has had a sex change

That was my guess. You’ll get teams that haven’t clicked yet & aren’t defensively sorted. A bit like last weekend you also get dead rubbers and players are on the beach

We'd find it much easier to convince someone were going up if we had an actual goalscorer
