We don't create "things" for strikers to get on to tho, we need someone to press and link up play...ideally who can also score goals!

Nah for the record, I genuinely think Mendy will happen, it’s just frustrating we haven’t made it happen yet.

I do also think he will be the only proven striker we sign though, I’d be over the moon to be proven wrong though obviously.

I’d much rather have Stansfield on loan than Mayenda as first choice, but on the flip of that I’d much rather Mayenda as first choice than some random PL U21 player who hasn’t kicked a ball in senior football.

That’s one of the issues with loan signings, you might get an Amad, but you might also get a Burstow. When Amad came here his most recent loan spell went very poorly at Rangers. He was massive for us.

Unless we can get someone to offer a similar impact we may as well give those minutes to players we own.

speakman is an even bigger #### than I thought if he believes mayenda is going to make it even above league 2 level

Yeah 100%. Likes of Boro will probably have 4 or 5 half decent centre forwards this season, we could have none. That Lath for them 18 goals from 36 games last season, how the fuck do they find these players but we can't.
