There is something wrong with having him as our only target for so long and not just getting it done though.

He’s an experienced, proven striker who has scored 60 goals in the last 3 seasons, is desperate to come and his agent had even alienated any other potentially interested teams by releasing a statement saying he will only come here and we still won’t just get the bastard done for an extra few quid.

That’s what’s unbelievable and pathetic about it, not the fact that we have identified him.

Hoping to get through to the end of August without signing a striker just shows the same as last seasons finish the season without a recognised manager and hopefully we will tick on over.....We nearly got relegated . Starting the season this way will piss the manager off, knock confidence from players and fans alike if we don't get the results we need to get a good start.

It just puts extra pressure on everyone, and then he has to move here and fit into the squad and get his fitness up as well. I am thinking there may be a flurry of activity either way as I still expect Clarke to leave but then I expect clubs to hold us to ransom if we try to buy after he is sold. I hate this window shutting after the season starts bollocks (I know it's to do with foreign windows but it screws us all the time it seems )

I've just read what his agent said in full and he sounds like he's keeping on the Mbappe's onside as well as their fans. Nothing about negatioations continuing from what I've seen.

We can all read into it differently of course, but it looks to me like his agent is saying they tried for a move, but its not happening due to new ownership and they respect that.

Didn’t score for the U21s , couldn’t get in Hibs team , didn’t score in pre season.

Not good enough to be the main striker in a championship team.

Even if it gets done, which I have considerable doubts it will, he’s not going to be in a position to play for weeks so we need to find maybe a loan signing who is ready to start.
