You expect to be kept informed of all the details of our recruitment plans? A bit unreasonable don't you think?....and if Mendy doesn't sign for us, where's the back up plan?

Looks like I amYou’re a miserable fucker you like
Very good post. If you look at our history over the past forty years or so, we flit between the top two divisions. Facilities-wise, we are a Premier League club. Playing squad-wise we are a Championship squad. Ambition in the transfer market this year suggests we are hoping to — at best — maybe sneak into the play-offs.Do you not reckon part and parcel of this is demographic? Most fans that I know that are slightly older expect us to be a premier league side as a bare minimum. People younger than that have seen us not in the PL for longer than they've seen us in it. I'll say we (as i'm in that bracket) have also never seen us win a trophy. So when you put that together the ambition may not be quite as high. For me, we are a PL club in terms of size but I don't expect us to be there. The modern game and it's financial dependencies aren't understood by most either and I think that's obvious. Put that all together with the 'model' in which we operate now I think the way the club is being ran is completely un-aligned with how the majority want the club to be ran but there is no easy solution to that.
Im as frustrsted as anyone (my previous posts say so) with how last pre season went. Sign young foreigner after foreigner and as club we were arrogant in the approach and it backfired massively. But people aren’t justified in their concerns because this has happened on repeat for 2 years?
He is adamant everyone showing concern is wrong and he’s right.
I understand what you’re saying. We should get at least four seasons out of a 30-year-old, with a decent injury record and no major career injuries, though. Not saying we shouldn’t pay that money for a striker, just not a 30 year old one
Great post. Agree 100%. We need to win the promotion lottery to have any chance of building for the future imo.Very good post. We have spent so long out of the PL these past few seasons that we have missed out on so much revenue. This means we are light years behind some of the clubs in that league in terms of playing squad quality and is one of the reasons we’ve let the stadium and other areas of the club decline — we’ve had to cut costs as we’ve missed out on probably half a billion quid these past few years.
I’m not a pessimist, I’m a realist. It would take us years to establish ourselves in the PL again, unless — like say a Brentford — we had an outstanding manager and a unique style of playing that helped us outperform our playing squad. Realistically, if we somehow got promoted, we’d likely get relegated in the first season. If we avoided that, there’s a slightly better chance we’d stay up the following year, but relegation would still be likely.
All I want at this moment in time is an ambition — a true ambition — to try to get in the top two of this league, with the lottery of the playoffs secondary. If owners aren’t aligned with that, then they’re daft. We need PL revenue to properly sustain a club of this size, with these facilities.
Great post mate. Could be some truth in that. My lad is 16 and he doesn't 'get' how big we really are as he has mainly seen us in championship and league 1. I keep saying we are massive. So, could be alot of truth in your post mate. I just think to put it simply the owner doesn't realise how big a club we are and the potential and the 'model' is a myth to me mate...it just means doing it on the cheap but say it's a 'model'.Do you not reckon part and parcel of this is demographic? Because the back 4 got over ran last season without one..We don’t and won’t play with a DCM. I’m not sure why the club is getting bashed over this and labelled as mismanaged.
Did it? Did we have a leaky defence last season?Because the back 4 got over ran last season without one..
Is it? So you’re saying people who queued for a shirt or praised the club for something are happy about the striker situation and are delighted with everything at the moment? It’s the same people who were queuing at early hours of morning to buy a shirt saying how brilliant the club was for having a shirt like that
We have zero ambition compared to clubs like Boro, Coventry Hull it’s a joke
If he fires us into the PL at 32 year old, he may never play another game again and we will go and spend 25 million on a better striker because we will have well over 150 million to spend, it makes sense to me.Not saying we shouldn’t pay that money for a striker, just not a 30 year old one
Aye I reckon that might be it as well mate. Also probably explains why some people are far angrier / uspet about the way things are than others too.Great post mate. Could be some truth in that. A lot of people are saying relax until the end of the window but it’s not like this situation has presented itself this summer and we are playing for points in 4 days.
I feel sorry for Le Bris but he surely knew what he was coming into?
No backup plan. Go as we are. 'We tried but we just couldn't get one over the line'. Admin stick Clarke and Povedo as forwards on the website.Time to move on
Telling his agent 'I need that move like I need a hole in the head' turned out not to be his best move in the end! Some may say he got shot on purpose so he didn't have to sign for us
He’s in love with a bloke who doesn’t love him back, poor ladYou’re a miserable fucker you like
How many games did we win ?Did it? Did we have a leaky defence last season?
