Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Incorrect…he wasn’t “venomous” at Bordeaux. My argument is valid and you are wrong
The line you quoted that mentioned 'venomous' was just captioning a video of a single goal the lad scored. No one has said he was 'venomous' at Bordeaux (outside that single strike), your argument is nonsense.

Well technically he wasn't "venomous" anywhere because he doesn't secrete venom or inject venom into his prey, but most normal people would recognize the person in the tweet was just trying to say "here's a good goal" in a fancy way and wouldn't feel the need to nitpick.

We were all over the moon when we signed will grigg who was pretty prolific at the time. He was desperate here. There's absolutely no guarantees in football. Sometimes players just work out at a club and sometimes they don't
Very true.

There’s certain factors that suggest the likelihood of somebody being a success and with some of our targets in the past (e.g Rusyn) these have been missing

QED

It doesn’t mean it’s a recipe for success. Do you want me to do a list for you of all the players who had shit records before they came to us and shit records with us?

You can argue a case on both sides mate, the truth is no one knows how it’ll work out if he signs.

Isn’t that the problem though? After 2 years of not signing a decent striker, shouldn’t we learn our lessons and go for someone who is at least a known quantity?

If an unknown quantity turns out great then I’m sure everyone will crow about it, but it will be more luck than judgement imho

I don’t necessarily disagree with you tbh, we’ve had our fingers burnt with proven players and with unknowns.

Fingers crossed it works out and he’s just a late bloomer.

He may not be a known quantity in England but he has 60 goals in the last 3 seasons
