Come on Alex chin up, not having a good time myself at the moment, you knar! despite the medication still got pain in my rectum (Lung, no pain !) at least 4 times a hour its like having barbed wire pulled through your arse for a couple of minutes, start my chemo tomorrow, 3 days a week every 2 weeks for 3 months??? some shit being pumped into me there, looks like I will be losing my still good crop of hair.:-(

alex will be thrapping on out to that you know ;)

keep the brave fight lads,,it can be beaten

Re: Alexander - and others with the big "C"

Got the reults of my pet scan the other day, no other major organs affected, just my tonsil however they did discover a hot spot in my anus. The consultant wanted to examine it there and then, KY jelly, glove and in he went. I kept thinking of Straw Dogs, Deliverance and Shawshank redemption. Unsuprisingly I didnt get stiff.

He has now made an appointment for a specialist to have a look, I asked what that entailed and he said more anal probing and a telescope!!! Lots of jokes about Uranus went through my head.

The funny thing is I feel fine, apart from a slight swelling on my throat no other symptoms, if they told me they had mis-diagnosed me I wouldnt be shocked

Re: Alexander - and others with the big "C"

Just got back from my 1st chemo session, 6 hours 15 mins, now I have a 50 cl container of chemo on my side pumping it in till I get back to the hospital tomorrow, not as bad as I thought, I was in a day ward with 5 others, 3 Brits and 2 Spanish so we had a bit of craic going on, one lad been coming for 6 weeks and has had minimal side effects, still got his hair etc so I hope I will be the same.

Good Luck Wayne, hope that the "Hot Spot" in your arse is benign.

Re: Alexander - and others with the big "C"

Best of luck to all those with cancer, speaking personally, the chemo is horrible and wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy ( well I would actually ) and the taste it left in my mouth during those 6 months will live with me for the rest of my life!
I lived on Pepsi Max/ Diet coke and mints to Help mask the taste but didnt get rid of it!
Few days after my final chemo session, the taste started to go, it was heaven!
One by product was the steroids gave me man boobs and my weight went up to nearly 14 stone. But I was alive and every day you survice cancer, is a bonus !
I hated the chemo regime, and after the 3rd month, said I wanted no more! As I had been told a min of 3 months, may be more depending on the CT scan. I need 6 months worth in the end and I only completed the course as I was coerced into completing it by my Dr and her assistant, June ( who has since sadly passed away at no age after a long illness ) I use to refuse it, and in the end say it was my last one! I had no cause to be like that, I was alive and walked out of the day ward after being in there for 4 hours. There were people in there who looked like walking corpses who looked as though there next breath could be their last!

Hope it goes well for you all ! You can beat the fucker !
