His preferred formation is 4-2-3-1. He generally wants a mobile target man up front who can press and run the channels. He loved Jordan Hugill and Ched Evans. Two wide players who stay fairly narrow and get into goalscoring areas whilst also doing their fair share of pressing, and a number 10 who also presses from the front whilst getting some goals too. He wanted our two in midfield to take the ball in deep areas and build from the back and play it through the thirds.

He does ask a lot from his forward players in a pressing, defensive sense whilst also contributing goals and assists, but it's for the benefit of the team. Whenever we played against teams who played out from the back, we absolutely battered them with our press and were extremely dangerous in transition. In League One that might be slightly different, as I'm sure you come up against a lot of teams who are sitting back, rather than trying to play and therefore can be pressed, but I'm sure he will be adaptable.

Generally you'll see the 4-2-3-1 a lot but he isn't afraid of changing it for particular games when he sees something in the opposition that he thinks he can exploit by changing it up.
Sounds like Stewarts type of game
Travelling down to Wimbledon today, after listening to this fella I feel a bit more confident than I did going to Cheltenham.

Well now everything has slowed/calmed down let's get back to doing what we do best and get behind our club. Personally like the fact that AN sees coming to League 1 as a lowering of his standards but its a risk he is willing to take. Its still got to be remembered that he is inheriting a team with very few fit defenders, players whose confidence can be blown apart at the flick of a switch and a very young squad whose senior players have let them down savagely over the last few games - the captain in particular. But that aside get things right and get us out of this league and hero worship awaits you. Please don't be swayed by anything and anyone and stick to the principals that brought you your successes in life. Good luck Alex. I also hope this shows the club is back on track appointments/signings wise as I think Defoe is a poor out of character signing and the chase for Keane was a financial disaster in the making.

Everything else is a rumour now.
I don’t expect much change in the first two games but hopefully we get bounce and my expectations are wrong.
Playoffs then promotion is a good possibility and he can get us there.
HAWAY THE LADS.
