I’m still pissed off that Methven lied about the Dell boys takeover. A massive wave of optimism followed by massive disappointment after an agonising and prolonged period of pissing around. Sound familiar?

The quicker he‘s nowhere near this club, the better. Speakman can sod off as well. Clowns.

This doesn't feel like the most inspiring appointment, but that may not matter. We need someone who can make the most of an unbalanced squad, organise the team and galvanise it, too. Maybe Neil is the man for the job.

Well, another day over in my life as a Sunderland supporter.
We've just employed a man as our Head Coach who, to all intent and purpose, is a very good coach. I should be ecstatic. But I'm not. I feel massively underwhelmed, and as though all of my eager anticipation of what the future holds has been sucked out of me.
I now know that we are run by a bunch of incompetents who really don't give a flying one, and lack so many of the virtues and skills needed to succeed.
They will anticipate my support, and dutifully inform me of new kits available, season card prices, ticket availability etc, safe in the knowledge that I will continue, however grudgingly, to dig deep as I have all of my life. I have to. I have been infected with the virus of a lifelong love of his club.
But it is probably never going to be quite the same.
Shame that.
