Preston fan on Twitter. Theres more tweets, but they're all positive.

@tom_coulston: @RokerReport Neil for 90% of his time at North End did a fantastic job. He was let down by the board ultimately who sold key players without adequately replacing them. He had us competing for play offs in 3 of his 4 seasons on a bottom 6 budget. Tactically spot on and a big coup for you IMO

My Heart said Keane every day, and while it is annoying he turned us down, my head always had Neil as a more stable, long term option. Keane would have been a whirlwind and amazing but there would always be that tinderbox element. If it is Alex Neil then he will get my whole hearted support. One thing we have seen in the past couple of weeks is the need for some leadership right now.

Preston fan in peace.

Alex Neil would be a great appointment for you. He was probably one of the most tactially astute managers in the league, he would often change systems pre and mid game in order to combat the other teams strength. We was one of the best pressing teams in league under him.
He developed our young players and improved them into much better players. Ultimately he was let down from the owner, our top goal scorer sold in January when we went on to finish 1 point outside of the players. He got us competing with one of the smallest budgets in the league. If he had been backed properly then he’d still be with us and we’d be doing a lot better.

Hope it's Neil not McCann.

I can get behind Neil. Has some success on his CV. Has some mediocrity too, at Preston, but their fans don't seem to hate him, hate him.

Has won some play-offs. This feels important.

McCann seems a bit Johnson-esque in his football. He does press high and play 4-3-3, but his defensive record is shoddy. We need to sort our defence out - Neil seems more astute in that department.

There‘s the problem right there. Speakman syndrome will see a repeat of that here.

I am annoyed by not getting Keane if it is 100% true but looking at Neils record, he would be a good fit for us, has a good playoff record and seems to be well liked by Norwich and Preston fans, Norwich went down with the mags the season we practically relegated them but Norwich were only 3 points behind them and 5 points behind us that season, not a bad effort by Neil for his first premier league season, please god not McCann, Lennon, Warnock or some one who got a team in league one promoted some time in the past, yeah that worked out well with Parkinson didn't it
