“When the opposition have got the ball, we want it as quickly as possible. We don’t sit off the game and let them have it. Make them make mistakes. Hurt them in the transitions. When we’ve got it, we want to rotate it quickly, don’t give them a chance to get set and press you, and try to be as aggressive with our passing as we can.”

Fits the ‘philosophy’?

Neil's non-descript personality would fit the mediocrity of the club well. Surprised if he wants the gig because the team is shite but I won't hurl my toys out of the pram which I would have done for Lennon.

I mean Keef is just speculating there mind. Nothing to suggest Neil will be offered it and the same as the McCann threads from around an hour back.
How many talks do we need -it’s ridiculous how much talking goes on with née action -like me in Finos circa 1982

We should have got Alex Neil instead of Grayson.

We paid Preston compensation for Grayson and they replaced him with a better manager for nothing.

Edit: I'd prefer him over Keane, which would have been a heart over head appointment.

If that's Neil it'll have some folk annoyed already. 'Transitions', 'rotate it quickly', just talk propa speak man!

If he can do what he done at Norwich I think we would all be happy - not too disimilar to our position and what we need him to do as we stand

''In January 2015, Neil obtained permission from Hamilton to speak to Norwich City about their managerial vacancy. On 9 January, he was confirmed as their new manager at 33 years old, the second youngest in after Mansfield's . The following day in his first game, he managed his team to a 2–1 victory at Championship leaders . Norwich gained 17 wins from 25 games played under Neil in the 2014–15 season. They finished third in the and entered the play-offs, where in the semi-finals they beat rivals 4–2 on aggregate over two legs. On 25 May, Neil led Norwich to a 2–0 victory over in the ,''

Has Oscar had his Twitter finger broken? Not even a banal tweet about a birthday let alone the managerial situation.

I'd have Neil over McCann like. Preston fans seem to still speak highly of him.
Can’t recall the last time fans of his previous clubs rating our manager, maybe Jack Ross the exception. Alarm bells rang straight away when I read reviews about Johnson, Parkinson, Coleman …..
Preston fans speak quite highly of Neil and think he did well on a minimal budget.

He wouldn’t have been my first choice but given the alternatives, I’d rather it was him.
If we appointed him within 48 hours of sacking LJ I think the whole outlook for the club would be different.
