I’m not sure just reflecting on the behaviour is enough here, that’s essentially saying grooming a child with the clear intention of engaging in sexual activity with them is fine provided the perpetrator hasn’t got as far as physical contact.
A firm talking to does not seem proportionate at all especially given the significant imbalance of power.

I couldn't agree more with you.

Grooming is absolutely "intent", I'm sure in some cases the difference between grooming and the actual act of child abuse is just a matter of opportunity for the groomer.

I understand that in law there's a difference between grooming and the actual physical act, but I honestly don't see a moral distinction. The way I read it her age didn't bother him and he kept going - that's enough for my jury (me!) to convict someone.

And vociferously judged him and the club for his actions.

Equally I'm sure he's been one of the KSA's biggest critics and lobbied to get them "oot o v wor klerb".
