Should Alastair Cook be relieved of the England captaincy?

Yes he should but it's not going to happen cos the ECB have dug themselves into a hole over the KP fiasco. To sack Cook after backing him would leave them with egg on their faces.

Cook himself can't win because the fans have voted with their feet already (Headingley only had one well attended day). next time he gets out for a low score the media will be straight on his back. As they will every time we lose. I don't know about losing the dressing room but he seems to have lost everybody else.

He should be relieved of the job permanently and given a decent rest from international cricket to recharge his batteries.

He is a world class batsman who has been out of form for a long time now and the rest of the summer off would do him no harm whatsoever. He would return (a similar absence prolonged Graeme Thorpe's test career, albeit it came about for different reasons).

I'd do the same for Anderson.

Most will disagree

Anderson the leading wicket taker in series

He should stay, mainly because there is no-one else, but he needs help in his captaincy. Prior, Bell, Anderson and Broad should be helping him and prompting him when things go stale. He should do what Vaughan did and have confidents outside the England setup (one of whom was Darren Lehman can you believe?!?) and Cook could do a lot worse than speaking to Vaughan himself.
If his struggles continue through the India series then maybe it will be time to look elsewhere but retain him as a batsmen - talk of dropping him is crazy.

I voted 'No' but would reconsider if series vs India is as disastrous as it has the potential to be.

I'm hoping that he will develop/evolve into a good captain which I don't think he is yet. He is not a natural one like a Vaughan or a Nasser

Me dad will hate me for voting yes

dont think their is a genuine alternative to him and the last thing they need is another change to the side.

It's a tough one, only Cook himself knows how much the captaincy's affecting his batting, and how much his failures with the bat are affecting his captaincy. He's undoubtedly a world class batsman, but he's having a very rough spell at the moment, it might be that for his form to improve he needs someone else to take the responsibility. To be honest, I'm not sure it'll make a whole lot of difference to the overall picture, Moores is the real problem imo.

has to go we are on a terrible roll at the minute and a change maybe for the best, also in the news Warne is sayin Cook is the worst England captain ever  was he asleep during the nasser hussain years and atherton fuck me wat a tosser
