Alan Brazil talksport

Are people watching a different video?

Brazil says when we are talking about mission impossible it's the mens game that is the main focus. She says she agrees it is. And then says but that doesn't mean the womens game can't also come under the overall project umbrella.

When Agbonlahor then reiterates it Brazil simply doesn't respond and then cuts the conversation off.

No she doesn’t, she says it’s part of the project and then when Brazil says nobody’s bothered (in grand scheme they aren’t) she gets on her high horse as she often does.

You must be watching a different video. The one on this thread she clearly does agree the men's team is the priority.

The bit you keep missing though is the conversation is initially about the project. If the fella at the top has included the womens team being successful then its very relevant to the conversation, regardless of interest.

There wasn't a need for him to say no ones really bothered about the women's game as that wasn't what was being initially argued.

Did he say women shouldn’t be encouraged to play??

He ‘laboured’ the point as that gobshite shebane wouldn’t accept in the grand scheme of things the woman’s team are an irrelevance.

If she’d just said yeah obviously mens team the priority but if the women can do well that’ll be a bonus the convo would’ve stopped dead!

So you concede the product is vastly inferior then?
Why should she say that?

The link is there for everyone to see.

When Brazil states the main priority in fans minds is the men's team competing she agrees and states "I have already said that".

Just watched it again, think you must have had a late night mowsy.

Yes and Brazil points out that it’s the mens team that people are bothered about, which he is of course correct on.

He only said nobody bothered when shebane started waffling on attempting to make the womens team relevant.

The actual man at the top said the mens team bring in 800m whilst the womens cost 10m.
Why should she say that?
Because it’s the truth.

Best bit of the clip is watching agbonlahors face while his brain ticks over thinking of something to say for over 2 minutes

She is stating a fact it appears when she says the womens success falls under the bigger project umbrella. Perhaps you could argue she doesn't need to bring in the bigger project (the clip doesn't show the conversation from the start so not sure if they were always discussing the bigger project, but its no biggie either way) but if so, he couldve simply said it does, but the mission impossible project is all about the mens team (which it absolutely is) rather than saying to her no one gives a toss about women's football.

Tha is fine. Those are the facts (and are of no surprise). As is the fact the womens team being successful is part of his bigger project.

It is part of the ‘bigger project’ as will so many other things be. However Brazil is pointing out that the ‘project’ relies on the mens team being successful, without that the rest of it is pointless.

Man Utd success relies on the mens team being successful, the rest of it is just waffle and pointless even discussing.

The cynic could argue that after the backlash Radccliffe recieved for pointing out just how pointless the womens team is he had to be shown to show some interest in it.

I'll spell it out then

  1. Woman tries to talk about women's football
  2. Red slug says fans aren't interested and puts her in her box
  3. People support this argument saying Man Utd mens crowd is bigger than womens
  4. Can deduce the inference that because mens is more popular then you shouldn't be talking about women's.
Hence "women know your place"
Time and a place for everything mate

Break it down to basics.

They are discussing the rebuild of man utd and the man at the tops aims.

Brazil talks about mission impossible, which is the men's team competing.

She then states that project, alongside the aim to bring the womens team success, falls under the bigger project.

Brazil states the mens project is the priority.

She agrees. Then adds in that the womens game is still a part of the fellas aims too though.

He then says no one gives a toss.

And she agrees it's the priority. It's waffle and pointless discussing and yet you got excited enough over it to start a thread on it.

No she doesn’t, she brings up something which is nothing more than an afterthought, Brazil tries to cut through the nonsense and move the convo back onto something that actually matters.

The womens game is pointless in comparison to the mens, it’s very noble of you fighting the good fight on behalf of the women mind.

Top woke points for mowsy 👏👏

It's interesting you say she often does. I'd not even heard of her until this thread. Which shows how easy things are to avoid.

Sorry, you've confused me with someone who is bothered about women's football. I'm barely even bothered about the mens these days . Despite that it's easy enough to spot and call out unnecessary comments and attitudes.

Edit. And it's also fun seeing daft things getting under people's skin

The project is made up of missions.

Mission 21 is what was being talked about. She talked about another mission.

Brazil said 21 was the priority for the project.

Can we all just calm down? None of this is worth going back and forth over, stop letting your egos make you get the last word. I am sure you could all be doing something more constructive with your time instead of arguing banalities with strangers online! Like learning a language or volunteering to help boat refugees.
Do you have a fwend ? Biggus dickus?

She should because then he said no one gives a toss about women's football.

He's factually correct when he says Mission 21 is about the men - and men only. How could it not be, it refers to how many trophies they have won.

She said the women winning a trophy should be a primary target. He said that wasn't the priority and that people weren't bothered about the women in the context of these projects. He's right.

Even Ratcliffe said that they aren't a priority - it's an opportunity - that's a direct quote from the Man U programme.

The take up isn't higher because they plug it to death? Wtf
This really isn’t a hard concept to understand. They plug it to death, but the take-up is poor, and the main reason is the standard is absolutely woeful. Most people are bombarded by sport 24/7 so they are selective in what they watch, and it doesn’t feature high up their agenda because the product is poor. There are some misogynists who will never accept it but they are in the minority.

Pretty sure most of the above is pretty factual, struggling to see why it’s so controversial.
