Sly was offered $1.4 million dollars in todays money to walk away and not appear in Rocky.

He said “my screen play, I’m playing the lead”. The rest is history.

He wrote the screen play in 3 and a half days.
 
I’m going to don my thigh slit silk shorts and crop muscle top combo tomorrow and prance down Roker beach in honour of the muscular shiny handsome nasty / redeemed bastard tomorrow.

He had to sell his dog to afford to keep going long enough to make Rocky. Bought it back for a few thousand after.
