Adingra

He didn't really get going - despite the assist against West Ham he didn't have a particularly great game, was poor against Burnley then dropped against Brentford where Le Fee came in on the left wing and covered every blade of grass with a monstrous performance. He had the nightmare against Man United but I think RLB was partially to blame for the team setup and putting him in front of Masuku - Masuaku was terrible the previous week against Forest but had Le Fee ahead of him supporting. He then didn't get a look in for months until AFCON, by which point Le Fee had had a long run on the wing and was everything he wasn't then Talbi, who was signed as a right winger, started to show form on the left.

I had high hopes when he got his chance again and scored against Leeds but his performances after that were really poor and he looked so unfit. He was shocking against Brentford and not much better against Spurs before that. To be fair to him, I thought he made a conscious effort to track back and defend when he got the run over Christmas but he just wasn't what we needed and didn't offer enough in attack to justify his shortcomings.

Brighton fans were saying he was very hit and miss. That was in a more attacking side than us. I m not too harsh in criticising our wingers as essentially they are wingbacks with FBs behind them. Most of their game is defending rather than being on the front foot.
I think the Man Utd match exposed him and the club felt they prefer to take a small loss and move on to a different player. It felt like his upside was going to be limited

It’s disapponting as we spent circa £20m on him, I assume we’re paying a majority of his wages now out on loan, and his replacement is another circa £18m who in all honesty won’t make a huge impact for us having seen his minutes so far.
Not like you to be negative mind 🤣 In à very positive season …..,
Hmmmmm?

Adingra has talent. His early games at Brighton evidence he’s able to influence premier league games and I wouldn’t be surprised if he does in future but it hasn’t quite worked out here and I do wonder if he was really committed to the move or it was just the best available in the summer. Purely speculative and I think he tried so not even a criticism really. The glimpse of Angulo suggests he’s a much better tactical fit but very early days.

Agree on both players from what I have seen and my limited knowledge. Interesting that Adringa's playing time here seems to have panned out as some Brighton fans suggested it would.
