How many years of him scoring runs and taking wickets will it take for him to get a sniff with England again. He's been playing really well of late.

I do like him and but thought he got his chance for England too early in his career a bit like Swan.

He's now a batsman who bowls. Took five in today's win but bowled pretty awfully for much of the time.

Fair play, didn't see him today. But he's taken 18 wickets @ 34 this year while scoring 876 runs @145 in the county championship. Which isnt too shabby.

I'm not saying he deserves to be in the England squad, just what does he have to do to start knocking on the door.

I dont know if I'm being a bit silly or daft, But I would love a batting allround legspinner to trot out for England one day.

He's kind of starting again. Last season was a disaster for him and in the winter he was rumoured to be wanting out. Seems that a sit down with Gale and Gillespie has resolved things and everyone recognises that, on occasions as young leggie learning his trade, he's going to bowl some crap but the captain and coach will back him. He's definitely batting like a potential Test player, though.

Agree with pretty much all that.

I was kind of surprised that he came out of that spat with the coach and Gillespie still playing for Yorkshire mind. Not many players who are so vocal in their criticism come out smelling of roses. It just shows you that maybe Adil was a tad justified in his criticism of not being properly backed by the yorkie back room staff.

Aye his batting is looking quite tasty. The great Dickie Bird says that he should concentrate on his batting as he can be a top batter, rather than diluting his focus on both batting and bowling. I dunno about that like, its always good to have another string to your bow. Like you said leggies take a bit longer in learning everything about their trade.

Think he will go the way of Steve Smith, another 3 years of top run scoring before he could seriously be considered as a batting all rounder for England.
